Authorities in Aleppo have announced an extension for the departure of civilians and families currently located in the al-Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods. This exit period is now scheduled to remain open until Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
This extension comes as a direct response to pleas from residents within these areas. On Wednesday, the SDF organization reportedly obstructed many citizens from departing, in an effort to employ them as human shields during their ongoing confrontations with the military forces.
Reopening of Safe Passages
In cooperation with the Syrian Arab Army, the governorate confirmed that two specific humanitarian corridors have been reactivated. These routes are designed to ensure that civilians can safely transition to more secure parts of the city of Aleppo.
Individuals wishing to leave either neighborhood are directed to the corridors located at Zuhur Street and al-Awared. The evacuation window is set for a duration of three hours, operating between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
