Following reports from SANA on Jan. 08, the Operations Command of the Syrian Arab Army has declared that it will begin concentrated strikes against SDF organization targets. These actions, scheduled for Thursday after 1:30 PM, will focus on the Sheikh Maqsoud, Bani Zeid, and Ashrafieh neighborhoods.

Curfew and Safety Warnings Issued

A mandatory curfew has been established for these districts starting at 1:30 PM and will remain in effect until further notice. The military command has cautioned civilians to stay well away from any locations where the SDF is positioned as the army prepares to engage these specific sites. The Operations Command emphasized that the targeted operations will commence promptly following the 1:30 PM deadline.

Extension for Civilian Evacuation

To assist those attempting to flee the conflict zones, the Aleppo governorate announced an extension for the exit of families and civilians trapped within Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh. The window for safe departure was moved to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday to facilitate the movement of residents out of the areas designated for military operations.

Context of Recent SDF Attacks

The decision to launch these focused maneuvers follows three consecutive days of SDF organization strikes on residential parts of Aleppo. This recent violence has claimed the lives of three civilians, including two women, and resulted in 27 injuries, which include two children.
