In an effort to facilitate the withdrawal of SDF organization members from the Sheikh Maqsoud district toward northeastern Syria, a government source informed SANA on Jan 9 that a secure passage is being established. This initiative is being carried out through the joint coordination of the Internal Security Forces and the Operations Authority of the Syrian Arab Army.

Restoring Normalcy to Local Neighborhoods

The official source provided assurances to the people living in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zeid, stating that regular life is expected to resume shortly. This transition back to normalcy will follow the total securing of the region and the conclusion of essential mine-clearing activities.

Throughout the previous days, the Syrian Arab Army has focused on reducing hazards during military maneuvers to prioritize civilian safety. With demining efforts currently underway, the source has urged residents to begin preparations for returning to their residences once the neighborhoods are officially declared safe and secured.

Supervised Evacuation of SDF Personnel

Furthermore, it was confirmed that the process of relocating SDF organization members has already commenced, with designated buses entering Sheikh Maqsoud. Under the direct oversight of the Syrian Arab Army to guarantee a secure transit, these individuals are being moved to northeastern Syria.
