On Friday, Jan. 10, units of the Syrian Arab Army carried out operations in Aleppo‘s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, resulting in the seizure of several medium and heavy weapons. According to official reports, these armaments had been employed by the SDF organization to strike residential parts of the city.
Caution and Civilian Protection
The Media and Communication Directorate at the Ministry of Defense informed SANA that combing efforts are currently being conducted across the neighborhood’s streets. These operations are proceeding at a deliberate pace and with high levels of caution. This careful approach is intended to safeguard the lives of local civilians, who have been prevented from departing the area and utilized as human shields by the SDF organization.
Transition to State Institutions
The Syrian Arab Army Operations Command had previously signaled the start of a clearing mission to remove criminal SDF elements from the district following the expiration of all granted deadlines. Once the combing procedures are finalized, the area is slated for an immediate handover to state institutions and security forces, enabling them to begin their work and restore official services to the neighborhood.
