The Syrian Arab Army’s Operations Command has officially identified all military installations belonging to the SDF organization within Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh districts as legitimate targets. This announcement, released on Wednesday, signals a significant shift in response to recent hostilities in northern Syria.

Escalation and Civilian Safety

According to the command, this strategic decision follows what it described as a “major escalation carried out by the organization toward the neighborhoods of the city of Aleppo and its massacres against civilians.” In light of the ongoing tensions, the military leadership has issued an urgent plea to the local population, stating, “We urge our civilian people in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods to immediately distance themselves from SDF sites.”

Humanitarian Corridors Established

To facilitate the safe movement of residents out of potential danger zones, two humanitarian passages have been designated. The command’s statement specified, “We announce two safe humanitarian crossings, Al-Awarid Crossing and Al-Zohour Street Crossing, which are known to the residents of the area, until 3 p.m.” These routes are intended to provide a secure exit for those seeking to relocate from the affected areas.

The directive follows a series of violent incidents on Tuesday. Attacks attributed to the SDF organization on residential blocks resulted in the deaths of 3 civilians, including 2 women. Furthermore, the strikes left 15 individuals injured, including 2 children, in neighborhoods situated near Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud in the city of Aleppo.
