Reporting from Damascus on Jan. 7 (SANA), Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh has highlighted that the persistent bombardment of residential zones in Aleppo by the SDF organization is a clear sign of total indifference toward the lives and security of innocent people. The minister’s remarks underscore the ongoing threat faced by the city’s inhabitants due to these targeted strikes.

A Vision for Stability and Dignity

In a statement shared via the X platform, Minister al-Saleh reflected on the long-term struggles of the population, noting that after years of displacement, shelling, and forced migration, “Syrians now have the right to live in safety and stability within a unified, strong, and prosperous homeland, based on citizenship and safeguarding the dignity of all its people.”

Recent Casualties and Drone Strikes

The conflict escalated on Tuesday when a Syrian Arab Army soldier was martyred and several other personnel were injured following drone strikes launched by the SDF. These aerial attacks were directed at military positions situated near the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo.

The violence also took a heavy toll on the civilian population. When the SDF targeted residential areas in the vicinity of the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods, as well as surrounding parts of the city, three civilians—including two women—lost their lives. Furthermore, roughly 15 people were wounded in the attacks, including two children who were among those receiving medical attention for their injuries.
