Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa highlighted the deep-rooted connection between the Syrian state and the Kurdish population on Friday, affirming that they are “our kin and partners in the future.” During his address, he described Syrian Kurds as a fundamental component of the nation’s fabric, linked to the state through the bond of citizenship and a wealth of shared historical, cultural, and humanitarian connections.
Restoring Order and National Institutions
In comments shared via the X platform, the Minister explained that the current security and military actions were a necessary response to a stalemate created by certain groups operating outside of official state channels. Al-Mustafa maintained that these operations were designed to safeguard public stability and re-establish law and order, as noted in reports from Damascus on Jan 9 (SANA).
Commitment to Humanitarian Support and Unity
The Minister pointed out that relief operations are currently underway to facilitate the honorable return of displaced citizens to their residences. He stressed the importance of bolstering these humanitarian efforts to ensure those remaining receive vital services, while simultaneously denouncing any pushes for forced displacement or migration under any pretext.
Promoting a National Discourse
Furthermore, Hamza al-Mustafa urged all factions to embrace a sensible national dialogue that focuses on shared values and unity. He called for a firm rejection of any forms of incitement, division, or sectarian disputes, speaking out strongly against the use of sub-identities to create discord within the country.
