Ankara, Jan. 10 (SANA) – During a broadcast on the Turkish channel TRT this Saturday, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan underscored the significance of the March 10 agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF organization. He described the accord as a highly practical framework, though he pointed out that the organization’s current lack of desire to follow this route remains the primary obstacle.

Prioritizing Peace for the Kurdish Future

Fidan suggested that if the SDF is genuinely concerned with the long-term interests of the Kurdish people, it must dedicate itself to authentic solutions rooted in peace. He emphasized that the organization should avoid driving the Kurdish population into deeper conflicts with neighboring nations and peoples in the region.

According to the Foreign Minister, “Time has come for the organization to move toward a path based on peace and dialogue with the Syrian government”.

Regional Stability and Opposing Visions

The Turkish official further explained that the route forward, which excludes the use of force, is well-defined. He observed that there is a shared vision between the United States and various countries within the region. However, he noted that this consensus is not shared by Israel.

Regarding Israel’s role in the regional dynamics, Fidan stated: “Israel is currently trying to ensure its security through violence and wars, and by using a divide and rule tactic to keep the surrounding countries weak”.
