On Jan 9, reports from Quneitra confirmed that Israeli occupation forces conducted fresh incursions into several villages throughout the southwestern countryside of Syria. These movements represent the latest in a series of actions that overlook established protocols in the region.

The Incursion in Southern Quneitra

According to a SANA reporter on the ground, an Israeli force consisting of three vehicles entered through the Abu Ghaithar crossing. The military vehicles traversed the road leading from Saida al-Hanout village to Saida al-Golan in the southern Quneitra countryside. Upon arrival, the troops set up a temporary checkpoint, which was subsequently dismantled when the force withdrew.

Violations of International Agreements

The state of Israel continues to carry out attacks that stand in violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. By entering the southern territory of Syria, these forces frequently target civilians through various raids and arrest operations.

Syria’s Official Response

The Syrian government has maintained a firm stance against these incursions, consistently calling for an end to the violations and the full withdrawal of Israeli military presence from its soil. Additionally, Syria has appealed to the international community to take decisive action to prevent further breaches of the 1974 accord.
