Doha, Dec. 16 (SANA) Syria took part in the eleventh session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP11), being held in the Qatari capital of Doha between December 15 and 19, with an official delegation headed by Amer al-Ali, leader of the Central Authority for Supervision and Inspection (CASI). The participation aims to strengthen international cooperation in combating corruption and recovering assets, furthermore to exchanging expertise in the fields of prevention and promotion integrity. Additionally, the step comes within the efforts of the Central Authority for Supervision and Inspection to develop its institutional capacities in line with international standards of transparency and accountability.
The conference is considered an opportunity for the participating countries to confront the challenges of corruption, highlight its most pressing issues, and enhance the global response to this threat. Chairman Amer al-Ali had previously affirmed in a statement to SANA that the CASI is working to strengthen oversight of administration institutions’ performance, with a focus on improving the quality of administrative work and services provided to citizens. He stressed the Authority’s commitment to combating administrative and financial corruption across all state institutions, through clear and approved procedures that observe standards of professionalism and transparency.
