White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated leader Donald Trump will meet with the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian leader Ahmad al-sharaa next Monday at the White House, describing the meeting as part of the president’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace around the world. In a press briefing on Monday, Leavitt stated, as per a post published on the White House account on X, that President Trump “made a historic decision during his visit to the Middle East to lift sanctions on syria, giving the country a real opportunity for peace. ” She added, “We believe we have seen good progress in that regard under Syria’s emerging leadership,” noting that President Trump “is following up on the severe work accomplished by President al-Sharaa. ” Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani said earlier this week during the Manama Dialogue 2025 that President al-Sharaa would visit Washington in November, with discussions on Syria’s reconstruction expected to be on the agenda.
President al-Sharaa visited the United States in September to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General assembly in emerging York, where he met with several world leaders and heads of delegations. Amer Dhawa
