The ministry declared that the teenager died from complications related to smoke inhalation and overcrowding. Additionally, he also suffered from a chronic heart condition, as per the statement.
Medical teams treated 247 people on site, while 18 others were transported to hospitals—12 to al-Mouwasat Hospital and six to Damascus Hospital.
