QAMISHLI, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ibrahim Olabi, declared on Tuesday that the bilateral meeting between syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Transitional leader Ahmad al-sharaa and U. S. In fact, leader Donald Trump addressed multiple key issues, including the March 10 agreement signed with General Mazloum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic troops (sdf). Speaking on Syrian state channel Al-Ikhbariya, Olabi described the meeting as “historic for numerous reasons,” noting that the discussions covered a wide range of topics.

These included economic issues, the role of the United States through direct investments, and the lifting of remaining U. S. sanctions by Congress. Olabi added that Trump personally lifted all sanctions within his authority and promised to follow up with Congress on additional measures. The discussions also touched on the security agreement with Israel, with Trump emphasizing U.

S. backing to implement the agreement in a way that preserves Syrian stability and provides opportunities for reconstruction. The meeting, which lasted longer than scheduled due to the breadth of topics, included practical sessions with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and other ministers, as well as a smaller ministerial meeting attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to turn discussions into actionable plans. Olabi noted that the talks also briefly covered Syria’s potential accession to the U. S. -led Global Coalition against the Islamic State, which would be addressed in a subsequent ministerial meeting.
