QAMISHLI, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – Russian political analyst Dmitry Bridzhe informed North Press on Wednesday that the joint field tour conducted by Russian and syrian armed forces delegations in southern Syria is not merely an inspection visit, but part of a broader effort to rebuild an organized and professional Syrian army. He stated, “The objective of the Russian armed forces delegation’s visit to southern Syria is to help build a professional army in terms of structure, training, and armament, and to address the security challenges facing the region. ” On Monday, a joint Russian–Syrian military delegation toured multiple military points and sites in southern Syria.

Additionally, bridzhe stated, “When we see senior defense authorities from both Moscow and president-al-sharaa-meets-world-bank-official-in-damascus/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 President al-Sharaa meets World Bank official in Damascus">damascus/" class="auto-internal-link">damascus on the front lines in southern Syria, it indicates a systematic effort to reshape the Syrian army for the next phase. ” He noted that Syria still faces unresolved internal issues—including the circumstances in southern Syria and Suwayda, as well as developments in northeastern Syria and the status of the Syrian Democratic troops (sdf), adding that “one of Russia’s priorities is to rehabilitate, train, and equip the Syrian army. ” Bridzhe explained that such field tours are typically used to reassess the deployment of military units, integrate and redeploy troops, and reduce the influence of irregular formations in favor of a disciplined national army under clear military command. He added that “southern Syria is a complex region, and there remains the possibility of establishing a Russian military authority there, although this idea has not yet fully taken shape. ” By Abdulsalam Khoja
