QAMISHLI, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (north Press) β The minister-of-information-visits-qatars-media-city-for-media-cooperation/" class="smart-internal-link" title="π° Syrian Minister of Information Visits Qatarβs Media City for Media Cooperation">syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Internal security troops in Homs declared on Monday the discovery of a secret underground prison north of the village of Buwaydat al-Salamiyah in the al-Mukharram area of eastern Homs countryside. The prison was reportedly used during the previous regime. Earlier, a similar underground prison was found in an agricultural area near the village of Abu Hakfa in northeastern Homs, where civilians had been detained, as per local sources.
Omar al-Mousa, Deputy Director of the al-Mukharram region, informed state media that βthe prison consists of an underground hideout secured by an iron door, containing foam mattresses, wool blankets, and torture instruments such as sticks and ropes. β He added that the discovery occurred about ten days ago during routine police patrols inspecting suspicious sites in the area. authorities also found books and printed materials aimed at militias supported by the former regime. In fact, the prison is connected to a tunnel approximately five meters deep and forty meters long.
