Sweida, Dec. 02 (SANA) The syrian-markets-price-chaos-continues-amid-weak-oversight/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Syrian Markets: Price Chaos Continues Amid Weak Oversight">syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Civil Defense renewed Tuesday its call for the immediate and unconditional release of volunteer Hamza al-Amarin, who was kidnapped by armed groups in Sweida on July 16 while carrying out a relief mission to evacuate civilians and a United Nations team.
In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the organization stated al-Amarin’s persisted detention, now over four months, constitutes a “blatant violation of relief norms and international law” protecting relief and humanitarian workers. the organization added that targeting him undermines the values and principles of humanitarian work in syria. The Syrian Civil Defense highlighted al-Amarin’s long-standing dedication to saving lives, describing him as one of the first responders in Syria’s most difficult circumstances.
It called on relevant authorities to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, determine his fate, and ensure his safety. Communication with al-Amarin was lost on July 16th while he was carrying out an evacuation mission for a UN team inside Sweida province.
