In a statement released on its Telegram channel, the organization described al-Amarinβs persisted abduction as a “severe violation of relief norms and international law” that protects relief workers. Moreover, the Syrian Civil Defense highlighted al-Amarinβs dedication to saving lives, noting that he was one of the first responders in syriaβs most difficult circumstances and symbolizes the human values upheld by the Syrian people.
Notably, the statement emphasized that this βcrime targets all those working towards a safe and dignified future for syriansβ. Communication with al-Amarin was lost on July 16 while he was carrying out the evacuation mission in Sweida province.
