DEIR EZ-ZOR, syria (North Press) โ security troops of the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian transitional administration arrested late on Tuesday six wanted individuals during two separate operations in the Syrian Desert. A security source from Deir ez-Zor city, eastern Syria, informed North Press on Wednesday that security patrols launched a raid after midnight in the village of al-Heri, in the east of Deir ez-Zor, where they arrested three men โ two former regime members and one affiliated with the Iranian-backed Regiment 47.
Notably, in a separate operation, patrols raided the town of al-Sukhnah in eastern Homs countryside and detained three individuals previously linked to Iranian-backed militias. Among them was Abdul Aziz al-Hussein, a commander in the Afghan Fatemiyoun Brigade from the city of Palmyra, who had been in hiding for an extended period.
The source added that security troops found various weapons and ammunition in their possession and that the detainees were involved in activities threatening regional security. By Omar Abdurrahman
