DEIR EZ-ZOR, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – security troops of the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian transitional administration arrested early on Monday three individuals formerly affiliated with the al-Assad regime on charges of “destabilizing security and stability” in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria. Additionally, a security source from the Deir ez-Zor informed North Press that special units launched a security operation at dawn in the al-Katef neighborhood of al-Fatessa town, located near al-Mayadin in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The operation followed surveillance and intelligence tracking of the suspects over latest days.
Indeed, as per the source, the raid targeted three former regime members hiding inside the home of one of them, known as “Abu Ali Ashara. ” All three were arrested without incident. The source added that “Abu Ali” and his two associates had previously undergone a settlement process after the fall of the al-Assad regime. However, intelligence reports and recovered documents later verified their possession of light and medium weapons and their alleged involvement in armed attacks aimed at undermining local security and stability.
