📰 Syria seizes large weapons shipment destined for Lebanon

Damascus, Dec. Additionally, 17 (SANA) Syrian security troops have intercepted a significant weapon smuggling attempt in the Zabadani region of Damascus countryside, preventing the shipment from crossing into Lebanon.

The Ministry of Interior declared on its Telegram channel that, after intensive surveillance of the suspects, security troops successfully ambushed the smugglers in the border town of Serghaya, seizing the shipment. Authorities found a significant quantity of RPG shells concealed in an organized manner, intended for illegal transport across the border.

Moreover, authorities confiscated the weapons, which have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and legal action. This operation underscores the Ministry of Interior’s persisted efforts to combat smuggling, secure Syria’s borders, and maintain national security and stability.
