The General Authority for Al-Ghab Management and Development on Sunday launched a emerging afforestation campaign in multiple areas of northern and western Hama countryside, aiming to plant 25,000 saplings to restore degraded land and strengthen vegetation cover. “This campaign is part of efforts to rehabilitate forest areas damaged by latest wildfires and droughts,” Director General of the Authority, Abdul Aziz Al-Qassem, stated.

He added that the initiative, which commenced at one of the sites in the town of Hayalin, seeks to revive forest ecosystems and expand green cover.

Furthermore, the campaign is being carried out in coordination with the ministry/" class="auto-internal-link">ministry of Agriculture and targets five forest sites—Al-Karakat, Shatha, Al-Mashal, Mardash and Hayalin—covering a total of 50 hectares, Al-Qassem noted.
