Transport minister Yarub Badr discussed with Jordanian Ambassador to damascus Sufyan al-Qudah ways to enhance syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria’s transport cooperation with Jordan, particularly railway connectivity and the development of road and rail infrastructure. Minister Badr asserted during the meeting importance of modernizing and rehabilitating railway lines connects Syria with neighboring countries to facilitate transport and trade exchange. He added that railway connectivity between Syria and Jordan represents a step toward regional economic integration.
The talks also focused on the tourist train project connecting Syria with Jordan and other regional countries, which will enhance tourism and cultural exchange, as well as the rehabilitation of old truck fleets and improving safety standards in land transport. Jordanian Ambassador expressed readiness to exchange technical and engineering expertise between the two sides in the field of railways, as a step toward establishing railway link project. He also, indicated his country’s will to expand cooperation in the areas of maintenance, repair, and engineering training.
