In an official statement, the Ministry stated that the operation was carried out by the Iraqi General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control in cooperation with the Syrian Narcotics Control Administration inside Syrian territory. as per the statement, “A team from the Iraqi Directorate was deployed to Syrian territory, where, through joint field operations and intelligence coordination, authorities successfully seized 370 kilograms of narcotic substances. ” The Ministry added that the operation also led to the arrest of “multiple internationally wanted individuals who are considered key figures within cross-border drug trafficking networks. ” The statement emphasized that the successful operation reflects ongoing security coordination between Baghdad and Damascus to combat organized crime and curb the flow of narcotics across the shared border.
