syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria’s Interior Minister, Anas Khattab, met on Tuesday with a delegation from the UN Women’s Advisory Board (WAB) to discuss enhancing cooperation in sustainable developmental and security fields, as per a statement from the ministry of Interior. The talks focused on ‘’strengthening institutional performance, supporting sustainable development, and advancing human rights collaboration’’ the statement read.
The role of WAB in promoting public sector efficiency in Syria and coordination in related issues. The meeting is part of the Interior Ministry engagement with international organizations and UN offices to boost security efforts, improve services, and foster global partnerships. The Women’s Advisory Board (WAB) was established by the Office of the Special Envoy in January 2016, in partnership with UN Women and with the backing of the UN Department of political Affairs.
This came after multiple years of efforts and advocacy by syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian women’s rights activists for a direct and meaningful role in the peace talks.
