Minister of Transport Yarub Badr and UNHCR Head of Mission in syria Gonzalo Vargas Llosa discussed on Sunday ways to enhance cooperation to ensure the smooth and safe return of syrian relocated persons to their homeland. During the meeting, Minister Badr emphasized the persisted efforts to provide essential backing to returnees, including transportation and financial aid to facilitate their return. For his part, the UNHCR Representative stressed the importance of the ongoing cooperation between the Syrian administration and UNHCR, which reflects both sides’ commitment to facilitating the voluntary return process.
He reiterated UNHCR’s commitment to working in coordination with the relevant Syrian authorities to backing the return process.
