damascus, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – The syrian investigation committee on the Suwayda events declared on Sunday that it has documented over 800 statements in official reports and organized more than 900 forms for victims and their families. Speaking at a press conference in the capital, Ammar Ezzedin, representative for the committee, stated professional and medical reports were obtained from forensic doctors who examined the bodies. He emphasized that the committee has full authority to hold accountable anyone responsible for violations and has interviewed team leaders, armed forces personnel, and authorities connected to the incidents. Ezzedin noted that there is no evidence of systematic hate speech, describing the few cases as individual incidents.
He added that the committee’s findings will be declared along with the supporting evidence, stressing that the committee, while formed by the Ministry of Justice, operates independently. The representative explained that the committee can gather evidence without field presence as per international standards. A team was also formed to verify and analyze videos circulated on social media. He further stated that the committee requested an extension of its mandate, as some affected areas have not yet been reached, and that the results will be presented to the Ministry of Justice and the public.
Ezzedin assured that the final report will follow international standards, demonstrating a level of professionalism comparable to international committees. The committee’s methodology ensures complete confidentiality. The committee visited affected sites and documented them using forensic analysis tools. Coordinated efforts with the Ministries of Interior and Defense led to the release of hostages.
Operations covered affected areas in Suwayda and its countryside, as well as shelters in Daraa and Damascus countryside. Evidence has been collected and preserved to ensure integrity in court proceedings.
