DEIR EZ-ZOR, syria (North Press) – A fighter of the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Democratic troops (sdf) was killed on Sunday, and two others were wounded in an armed attack in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria. A armed israeli-forces-incursion-reported-in-daraa-and-quneitra/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Israeli forces incursion reported in Daraa and Quneitra">forces source from the SDF in Deir ez-Zor informed North Press that unidentified gunmen, likely affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS), opened fire with machine guns on an SDF armed forces patrol near one of its posts on the banks of the Euphrates River in the town of Susah, east of Deir ez-Zor.
The source added that the attack killed SDF fighter Ahmad al-Khalaf and wounded two others, while the gunmen managed to flee the scene. Following the attack, SDF patrols imposed a security cordon around the town and launched a sweep operation to track down the perpetrators.
