QAMISHLI, internal-link" title="๐Ÿ“ฐ United Nations Confirms Decline in Captagon Production in Syria">syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (north Press) โ€“ Dr. Amer Seifo, director of Zahraa national Hospital in Homs, disclosed on  Thursday a significant increase in patients suffering from seasonal influenza, which presents symptoms similar to those of COVID-19. Dr.

Seifo informed North Press that the hospital has been receiving around 35 patients daily since the start of the outbreak. He noted that the pressure is not limited to Zahraa Hospital but extends to other hospitals across the city. He added that the rise in cases has forced hospitals to admit patients beyond their capacity.

Economic hardship and low income among numerous residents have compounded the circumstances, as significant numbers of patients are unable to afford private healthcare and must rely on public hospitals. as per Seifo, hospitals in Homs collectively receive approximately 500 patients daily with influenza-like symptoms since the beginning of the outbreak. He verified that awareness campaigns are currently being conducted among residents to encourage preventive measures and reduce the spread of the illness. In fact, however, he acknowledged that the limited resources available in public hospitals hinder their ability to accommodate larger numbers of patients.
