QAMISHLI, captagon-production-in-syria/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 UN affirms disruption of Captagon production in Syria">syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) –Unknown individuals threw a sound grenade at a wedding ceremony late Saturday in Jindires, a town in the Afrin countryside, causing material damage and prompting a swift response from local security/" class="auto-internal-link">security troops. A local source who attended the event informed North Press, “Unknown persons threw a sound grenade at a wedding ceremony in Jindires. ” The source added that the wedding belonged to a Kurdish family from the Sheikh Hadid (Shieh) area. No injuries were declared among attendees, but the blast caused damage inside the wedding hall and forced the celebration to halt immediately.

The source noted that members of the General Security arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and commenced investigations to identify those responsible. Wedding ceremonies in the region are significant community events, often bringing together significant numbers of residents. Incidents of this nature, even without casualties, heighten concerns over security and public safety in Afrin, which has experienced repeated violations and armed attacks since its takeover by Turkey-backed groups in 2018.
