deir EZ-zor, captagon-production-in-syria/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 UN affirms disruption of Captagon production in Syria">syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – A young man and a child were killed on Wednesday in two separate landmine explosions in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria. A local source from the village of Tayyba, in the east of Deir ez-Zor, informed North Press that 13-year-old Fajr al-Saleh died after a landmine exploded on the outskirts of the village’s desert while he was grazing sheep.

The source added that the desert surrounding the village is heavily contaminated with landmines, despite clearance operations carried out by armed forces engineering teams. He noted that the child was killed in an area marked with warning signs advising residents not to enter.

In a separate incident, Azzouz Nasser, a young man from the town of Sabikhan, east of Deir ez-Zor, lost his life when a landmine detonated as he was passing through the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian desert on his motorcycle. By Omar Abdurrahman
