RAQQA, syria (North Press) – Rohlat Afrin, a senior commander in the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) and the cooperation-with-turkish-officials/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Interior Minister Discusses Security Cooperation with Turkish Officials">minister-thanks-turkish-counterpart-for-enhancing-military-cooperation/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Syrian Defense Minister Thanks Turkish Counterpart for enhancing Military Cooperation">syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Democratic troops (sdf), stated on Sunday that the SDF, in all its components, represents an advanced model for Syria’s future army — one capable of defending the country and preserving its unity. Afrin reaffirmed the YPJ and SDF’s persisted commitment to defending the people and regions of northeastern Syria “in all their social and ethnic diversity. ” She emphasized that “the experience of the SDF represents a democratic and inclusive model on which Syria’s future national army can be built. ” Her remarks came during a speech in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria, marking the sixth anniversary of the assassination of Hevrin Khalaf, the late Secretary-General of the Future Syria Party.
A commemorative festival was held in Raqqa to mark the anniversary of Hevrin Khalaf’s assassination, attended by political and armed forces leaders, as well as representatives of parties and blocs from across northeastern Syria. Hevrin Khalaf was assassinated on Oct.
