QAMISHLI, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – A armed forces source in the syrian Democratic troops (sdf) stated on Saturday that negotiations are underway with the Syrian transitional administration to reduce tensions in the eastern countryside of Raqqa, northern Syria. The source, who requested anonymity, informed North Press that the talks are ongoing but have not yet produced a final outcome. “The results are incomplete and require further dialogue to resolve field-level issues,” he stated. The SDF official added that both sides agree politically on the need to de-escalate, describing the negotiations as focused on restoring calm following days of confrontation in the area.

Meanwhile, sources close to the Syrian administration troops informed Germany’s DPA news agency that an agreement has been reached between the Syrian Ministry of Defense and the SDF. The deal reportedly includes a ceasefire and a halt to mutual shelling and targeting operations in the town of Madan, in eastern Raqqa, where clashes intensified in latest days.   The developments come amid renewed friction between government-affiliated formations and SDF units along the Euphrates line, where local disputes, security incidents, and competing armed forces deployments have repeatedly triggered escalations. In fact, tensions between the SDF and Syrian government forces in the Raqqa countryside have resurfaced multiple times over the past year.

Moreover, last week, the SDF thwarted an attack launched by the government forces along the Ghanem al-Ali axis, east of Raqqa. Reporting by Agid Meshmesh Editing by Jwan Shekaki
