QAMISLI, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) โ€“ The syrian Democratic troops (sdf) rejected on Wednesday reports circulated by pro-administration media claiming that its fighters targeted a Syrian administration armed forces post near Tishrin Dam in the countryside of Aleppo. In an official statement published on its website, the SDF stated, โ€œWe deny targeting a armed forces point belonging to Damascus near Tishrin Dam. The incident resulted from the explosion of planted landmines. โ€ The statement came in response to a report by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), which quoted a source in the Ministry of Defense as saying that โ€œtwo soldiers were killed and a third was injured after the SDF targeted a military position near Tishrin Dam in Aleppo countryside. โ€ The SDF refuted the claims, emphasizing that its troops โ€œdid not carry out any attack in the mentioned area,โ€ adding that the explosion occurred โ€œin the vicinity of a government military post due to landmines,โ€ and that its forces had no involvement in the incident.

The SDF reaffirmed its adherence to the principle of non-escalation and its ongoing efforts to preserve stability along contact lines, particularly in areas where tensions occasionally rise between SDF-controlled territories and zones held by Syrian government forces. The statement further underlined the SDFโ€™s commitment to โ€œcontinuing its efforts to counter threats that endanger the safety and security of all residents, regardless of their affiliations or backgrounds. โ€ SDF also called on media outlets to verify information from credible sources and avoid spreading inaccurate or misleading reports that could escalate tensions or misinform public opinion. Tishrin Dam, located on the Euphrates River in northern Syria, remains a strategically crucial facility supplying electricity and water to multiple areas under the administration of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).

The SDF maintains positions nearby as part of broader regional security operations coordinated with the AANES and the Global Coalition. By Atoun Jan
