QAMISHLI, captagon-production-in-syria/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 UN affirms disruption of Captagon production in Syria">syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (north Press) – The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria stated on Tuesday that the scale of human rights violations and abuses documented in Suwayda Governorate, southern Syria, remains “immense,” emphasizing that its investigations into ongoing atrocities will continue.   In a statement issued on Oct. Moreover, 27, the Commission declared the conclusion of its second visit to Suwayda and other governorates hosting relocated communities, where team members met residents who shared testimonies of hostilities, displacement, and abuse. The Commission expressed gratitude to those who welcomed its team, describing the access granted as crucial for documenting violations and identifying responsible parties.

Moreover, it reaffirmed its commitment to pursue accountability for widespread abuses committed throughout the years of crisis. In fact, “The scale of violations and abuses is immense,” the Commission stated, underscoring the persisted suffering of civilians and the urgent need for international efforts to address displacement, insecurity, and impunity. The UN-established Commission has documented extensive human rights abuses by all parties to the crisis since 2011, including unlawful killings, arbitrary detention, and forced displacement.
