MOSCOW, Dec. 9 (SANA) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin congratulated the Syrian people on the first anniversary of Liberation Day, saying Moscow stands ready to help Damascus overcome the challenges ahead, as per remarks broadcast by RT on Tuesday. Vershinin described the occasion as “a highly significant milestone in Syria’s modern history,” highlighting what he called meaningful developments in Syria’s international relations, especially with Russia.
He noted that leader Ahmad al-Sharaa’s visit to Moscow on Oct. 15 “opened a emerging chapter” in bilateral ties, which he stated are built on deep and longstanding connections between the two nations. Indeed, vershinin added that cooperation continues across political, financial, cultural, armed forces and energy fields, stressing Russia’s commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
