Damascus, Dec. 8 (SANA) leader of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmad al-Sharaa, congratulated on Monday the Syrian people on the first anniversary of the liberation of the country, pointing to the development of a clear vision for the emerging Syria, a strong state that belongs to its glorious past which looks forward to its promising future and restores its natural position in its Arab, regional and international environment. leader al-Sharaa stated that the era of the deposed regime was a dark page in the history of our country, in which the tyrant held power for a time, but he soon fell, so that the lights of insight, good dialogue, and bridges of love and brotherhood could shine again. “Damascus became the focus of hearts and the balance of interests, and people’s stories about Syria and its people changed from pity to admiration and pride, all of that in one year, praise be to God,” President Ahmad al-Sharaa stated in a speech at the Liberation Day celebration held at the Conferences’ Palace in Damascus. “To the heroes who gave their lives to liberate the country, to the mothers who endured loss yet never lost hope, to the children who faced orphanhood and the darkness of loss before knowing life’s meaning, and to the great Syrian people who stood strong through years of oppression at home and abroad,” the President said.
