Damascus, Dec. 8 (SANA) Syria has restored its vital role and standing on the international stage thanks to the resilience and unity of its people and the political vision of its leadership, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ibrahim Olabi, stated.

In a post on platform X, Olabi highlighted Syria’s significant diplomatic achievements in latest months, including leader Ahmad al-Sharaa’s historic visit to the United Nations and meetings with world leaders, the rare Security Council consensus on lifting sanctions, the adoption of a resolution supporting Syria’s sovereignty over the occupied Golan with a record-high vote, and the unprecedented visit of Security Council members to Syria. “These achievements are the result of sustained efforts that have restored Syria’s pivotal role internationally, befitting its name, status, and people,” Olabi stated, emphasizing that the country’s international standing has been reestablished.
