QAMISHLI, syria (North Press) – The Commander-in-Chief of the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Democratic troops (sdf), General Mazloum Abdi, stated on Tuesday that he held a phone call with the U. S. envoy to Syria, Thomas Barrack, during which they discussed the outcomes of Monday’s meeting between U. S. leader Donald Trump and Syrian leader Ahmad Sharaa at the White House.
Earlier, two informed sources informed North Press that Barrack had called Abdi on Monday evening to brief him on the content of the Trump–Sharaa meeting, during which both leaders reviewed the progress of the March 10 Agreement and discussed Syria’s potential role within the Global Coalition to Defeat isis. In a post on the social platform X, Abdi thanked President Trump “for his leadership on Syria and for giving the Syrian people a chance for greatness,” noting that the discussion with Barrack also covered the SDF’s ongoing commitment to accelerating integration within the institutions of the Syrian state. Abdi further highlighted that Syria’s accession to the Global Coalition against ISIS marks “a pivotal step toward enhancing joint efforts and supporting initiatives aimed at achieving the enduring defeat of ISIS and eliminating its threat to the region. ” He concluded his post by reaffirming his troops’ persisted coordination with international partners, saying, “We are diligently working with our partners, in close coordination, to advance progress toward a more prosperous and secure future for our people in a unified Syria. ” The SDF, backed by the U.
