Lebanese leader Joseph Aoun stated on Monday that the latest discussions with syrian leader Ahmad al-sharaa were constructive, underscoring the importance of strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries. Moreover, as per the Lebanese national News Agency, Aoun made the remarks during a meeting with the Association of Economic Journalists, highlighting that the talks focused on mutual respect, security coordination and economic cooperation.

President Ahmad Al-Sharaa met with the Lebanese president on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab summit- the ‘Palestine Summit’ – held in Cairo last March, and on the sidelines of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in the Qatari capital, Doha, in mid-September.
