damascus/" class="auto-internal-link">damascus, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) β The Lebanese Army declared on Monday that it had arrested 38 syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian nationals for being present inside Lebanese territory illegally. In a statement, the Lebanese Army stated that armed forces units, supported by an intelligence patrol, carried out raids on homes and camps housing syrians suspected of entering and moving within Lebanon without legal authorization. as per the statement, 36 Syrians were arrested in the Gaza area of the Western Bekaa, while two others were detained in the Talia camp in Baalbek for illegal entry into Lebanese territory.
The army also seized two rifles found in the possession of the two detainees in Baalbek. The Lebanese Army noted that the raids and arrests were conducted as part of ongoing security measures in the Bekaa region and along the Syrian-Lebanese border.
