DEIR EZ-internal-link">zor, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – Two children were seriously injured on Tuesday when a landmine, left over from the war, exploded in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria. Indeed, a local source from the village of Hatla, east of Deir ez-Zor, informed North Press that a landmine detonated near a group of children who were playing in the rain on the outskirts of the village.
The source stated the explosion caused severe injuries to two children, Saud al-Musallat and Ahmad al-Jamil, who were transferred to hospitals in damascus/" class="auto-internal-link">damascus after receiving initial treatment at Deir ez-Zor national Hospital. The source noted that the village had previously been under the control of Iranian-backed militias before the fall of the al-Assad regime and remains heavily contaminated with landmines.
