The contribution aims to enhance recovery and reconstruction initiatives in areas under the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), which continues to work with international partners to improve living conditions for relocated and returning families. The announcement comes shortly after the syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recognized the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state on October 29.

In a post published on the X platform the SRTF stated that the Kosovar donation will help advance its rehabilitation and livelihood projects across Syria. Furthermore, the Fund noted that the financial backing will contribute to “rehabilitating homes and restoring livelihoods, assisting host communities and returnees — particularly families returning from al-Hawl Camp — to resettle, rebuild, and reintegrate with dignity. ” The SRTF, established in 2013, supports stabilization and early recovery projects in crisis-affected regions of Syria, with a focus on restoring essential services such as water, electricity, housing, and education. It operates in coordination with local administrations and international donors to promote sustainable recovery and community resilience. authorities within the Fund emphasized that international contributions like Kosovo’s play a vital role in improving conditions for returnees and helping local communities recover from years of crisis.

The Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic troops (sdf) have repeatedly underlined the importance of reconstruction and stability programs that promote safe returns and social reintegration in areas liberated from isis. Kosovo’s gesture marks its first financial contribution to Syria’s recovery programs since mutual diplomatic recognition between the two governments was declared last month. Moreover, by Atoun Jan.
