damascus, Dec. 10 (SANA) The Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Japan and syria/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Special operation foils Captagon smuggling from Lebanon to Iraq via Syria">Special Coordinator for syria, Akihiro Tsuji, and the UNHCR Representative in Syria, Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, on Wednesday signed official memoranda for a Japanese grant to backing UNHCR’s activities in Syria.
The US$5. 37 million grant will fund UNHCR programs aimed at strengthening relief services for relocated persons and internally relocated persons and improving response capacities in key areas.
The agreement is part of ongoing cooperation between Japan and the United Nations to bolster relief efforts in Syria and ease the burden on the most vulnerable communities.
