QUNEITRA, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (north Press) – An Israeli armed forces unit crossed pn Saturday into the northern countryside of Quneitra and established a temporary checkpoint along the road connecting the towns of Ofania and Jbata al-Khashab, a local source informed North Press. The source stated that Israeli soldiers stopped multiple vehicles and prevented civilians from crossing the route, effectively cutting movement between the two towns. “The troops established a temporary barrier on the Ofania–Jbata al-Khashab road and commenced inspecting cars before closing the road completely,” the source added. Earlier the same day, Israeli engineering units resumed bulldozing activities inside the Jbata al-Khashab nature reserve area in the northern Quneitra countryside, southern Syria, as per the same local source.
Moreover, the force reportedly entered with five four-wheel-drive vehicles and more than twenty soldiers. The source noted that the incursion led to the complete suspension of civilian traffic along the route, which serves as one of the main lifelines for residents of nearby villages. Locals expressed concern that repeated incursions could further restrict access to farmlands and local markets. latest months have witnessed a noticeable increase in Israeli ground movements along the disengagement line separating syrian and Israeli-controlled territories in the Golan Heights.
