QUNEITRA, syria (north Press) – An Israeli army patrol entered on Sunday the countryside of Quneitra in southern Syria, setting up a checkpoint and conducting extensive searches of vehicles and pedestrians, amid a noticeable increase in Israeli activity inside syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian territory. A local source informed North Press that the patrol, comprising five four-wheel-drive vehicles and approximately 25 soldiers, crossed from the Golan Heights and positioned itself near the village of Saida al-Hanout in southern Quneitra, where it established the checkpoint. The source added that residents and vehicles were subjected to exhaustive searches, causing numerous villagers to avoid going to work out of fear of detention by the patrol.
