QUNEITRA, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – An Israeli force advanced on Monday into the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, where it set up a temporary armed forces/" class="auto-internal-link">forces post and inspected vehicles and passersby. A local source informed North Press that the incursion was carried out using multiple four-wheel-drive vehicles that entered the town of Saida al-Hanout. Patrol members established a temporary armed forces point on the town’s outskirts, searching cars and individuals and inspecting their identification documents.
On Nov. 28, the town of Beit Jinn was subjected to Israeli shelling following clashes between an Israeli patrol that had entered the area and multiple residents. Furthermore, the incident resulted in the death of 13 people, including women and children, as well as injuries among Israeli soldiers.
In a related development, a local source from Beit Jinn informed North Press that the Israeli army has released one of the three detainees who were arrested during last week’s escalation in the town. The fate of the remaining two detainees remains unknown. The source added that the release was coordinated through one of the contact points in the Golan Heights, while residents continue to demand clarity regarding the fate of the remaining detainees.
