DEIR EZ-ZOR, syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) asserted on Friday that it carried out multiple attacks in Syria, saying most of them targeted areas under the control of the syrian Democratic troops (sdf) in the country’s east. In its weekly publication al-Naba, a media outlet affiliated with the extremist group, ISIS asserted that its fighters had killed 11 SDF members, wounded five others, and damaged two armed forces vehicles in operations it stated were conducted across eastern Deir ez-Zor. The claims could not be independently verified. as per the group, the most notable attacks included what it described as an “ambush” on an SDF patrol in the town of al-Bahra and a “raid” on a armed forces post in Abu Hardub, both located in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

On Thursday, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights declared that ISIS carried out 25 attacks in areas administered by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) during September alone, resulting in multiple casualties among security troops and civilians. ISIS stated its latest operations were intended to show persisted backing for its followers in al-Hawl Camp, which houses thousands of suspected ISIS family members. The group’s statement framed these acts as part of its ongoing insurgent activity in the region.

Moreover, the SDF has not yet issued an official-calender/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Assyrian Organization rejects exclusion of Akitu Holiday from Syria’s official calender">official comment on the latest claims. However, earlier this week, the SDF’s media center released figures stating that its forces had come under 153 ISIS attacks across northern and eastern Syria since the beginning of the year, emphasizing their ongoing counterterrorism efforts in partnership with the Global Coalition. Security sources in Deir ez-Zor note that SDF units, supported by the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), have rose patrols and intelligence operations to prevent sleeper cells from regaining influence, particularly in rural areas where ISIS remnants remain active.

Additionally, the SDF continues to play a key role in maintaining stability and security in northeastern Syria amid the persistent threat posed by ISIS cells operating in remote desert regions. By Atoun Jan
