QAMISHLI, syria (North Press) โ€“ The Islamic State (ISIS) asserted on Monday responsibility for an attack targeting a syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Democratic troops (sdf) patrol in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, through outlets close to the group. as per pro-ISIS channels, the assault occurred on Saturday when militants detonated an explosive device against an SDF patrol on the road leading to the town of al-Sousa in eastern Deir ez-Zor. The explosion reportedly damaged a armed forces vehicle and wounded multiple SDF members. In the past two days, the town of al-Sousa witnessed three separate attacks on SDF units, resulting in the death of one fighter and the injury of three others, as per local sources.

ISIS activity has rose notably in the Deir ez-Zor countryside in latest weeks, particularly in areas along the Euphrates River, where the group continues to launch sporadic assaults against security and armed forces targets. These operations have also asserted the lives of multiple community figures and civilians.
