damascus/" class="auto-internal-link">damascus, syria (North Press) – Iraq declared the freezing of movable and immovable assets belonging to Lebanese Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthis due to their involvement in “terrorist activities. ” as per a decision issued by Iraq’s Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Office and published in the official gazette Al-Waqai Al-Iraqiya, all financial assets linked to Hezbollah and the Houthi group will be frozen. The decision follows a recommendation submitted by the Office on March 19, 2025, and is based on the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Law (Law No.
39 of 2015), as well as Article 10(3) of the Terrorist Assets Freezing Regulations. The list of designated entities whose movable and immovable assets are to be frozen includes the al-Jama’ah al-Islamiyah, al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, the Houthi group, and multiple other organizations.
