DEIR EZ-ZOR, syria (North Press) – A child and a member of the security troops of the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian transitional administration were injured late on Saturday when an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a security vehicle in the town of Abu Kamal, east of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria. A security source informed North Press that the explosion occurred on al-Hajjana Street, injuring a security officer and a nearby child.
Security troops immediately cordoned off the area following the blast. “One of our members was targeted with a roadside bomb, sustaining a severe injury,” stated Darrar al-Shamlan, commander of the security israeli-forces-incursion-reported-in-daraa-and-quneitra/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Israeli forces incursion reported in Daraa and Quneitra">forces/" class="auto-internal-link">forces in Deir ez-Zor. Notably, “A child nearby also suffered nervous shock from the intensity of the explosion. ” Al-Shamlan vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice, adding that specialized units were pursuing those responsible and had launched an investigation into the attack.
